Here we are at our 3rd Top PTO Expo Pick!!
I have to say I’m really excited about this one:) I actually presented it to our Middle School Principal yesterday and he loved the idea.
First of all, I have to give my sweet husband credit for this one. We found the booth and I thought it was really cute but almost dismissed it until he stopped me and told me his vision for this product:)
They are called Spirit Sticks from a Spirit Monkey. These are just some samples we were given at the show (Mine, Paul’s and some free ones we got at the front door with our lanyards:). They are little fabric/embroidered tags that go on either your lanyard OR Spirit Monkey offers a Spirit Ring that you can buy. They start at packs of 100. There is something for every occasion – academics, personal challenges, leadership, just for fun and many, many other options.
Paul’s idea was really cool and I loved it immediately. This could be something our PTC buys for the teachers and administration to give out to the kids. We could reach out to the elementary schools to possibly get them in on it as well. These could be awards that they work towards. Get caught helping someone who needs help? Citizenship Spirit Stick! Did you help save the planet by bringing a “Trash Free Lunch”? There’s a Spirit Stick for that too! Maybe you participated in your school’s annual Walk-a-Thon! Boom! Spirit Stick!
Honestly, I can’t see anyone over 8th Grade wanting/caring about this idea but for Grades 8 and under – ABSOLUTELY. As our MS principal said yesterday, “I can see kids walking around school with some of these on their lanyards”. So I will be working to ‘make it so’ starting for next year:)
These are the fun things, you know? This is what we raise the money for. This is why we go out there and raise that money. It’s about giving it to the kids. Making school a bit more fun and in the process making them WANT to do more. Be more.:)
Let me know if you have ever had business with this cute company:) Also, do you have an incentive program your organization has put into place for the students in your school? Post it in the comments below. I look forward to hearing from yall!
Speak soon!
take care,
~kat
