Easter Fundraising
I love Easter. Everyone loves Easter. For me, it tells me that Spring is ALLLLMOST here and cold weather is about to be a thing of the past. For the littles though, it means the Easter Bunny is coming! Even though our 3 are growing up, hunting Easter eggs, baskets full of jelly beans, chocolate rabbits and surprises are what it’s all about for the them.
If you’re looking for some ideas for Easter fundraising, sure, you can do an Easter Egg Hunt or even pictures with the Easter Bunny but let me give you a few more ideas that you might not have thought of!
Raffle off Easter baskets of goodies. These do not have to be the all out, crazy over the top baskets you would create to raffle off at larger fundraisers. Pick a number of baskets, you one or two — or if you’re feeling crazy, one per grade!, and fill them with chocolate rabbits, jelly beans, little trinkets and maybe a small gift card or two. Nothing big. Kids love winning things and the chocolate rabbit by itself is a huge win on it’s own:) Check with your school first, but these could be showcased in either the office, cafeteria or some other high traffic area where kids will see them and get excited over them. Sell tickets for a week coming up to the raffle. Fun and easy!
Seroogy’s Chocolates out of Wisconsin offers gorgeous chocolate butter fudge eggs, rabbits and lambs. They all come individually packaged ready for the Easter Bunny to place them into children’s baskets or set them out as table setting favors. Each item ordered earns your organization a 50% profit. Check out their reviews on Yelp. You’ll find nothing but excellent reviews and even another idea or two for fundraisers. Another plus for this one is there is no minimum that you have to order. I have come across several companies that have contracts that specify crazy, high limits and if you don’t make that limit, you’re pretty much out of luck. So make sure to check this one out. If you’re interested, you must call them directly and up your fundraiser.
Butter Braid Pastries make a wonderful addition to your Easter breakfast table or brunch. These are delicious frozen braided pastries that have a variety of fillings – apple, blueberry, bavarian cream – just to name a few. You just take them out of the freezer, thaw, bake and ice. You organization will make about $5 on each Butter Braid that is sold. My oldest son’s dance studio sells them and that $5 goes towards his tuition on each Butter Braid he sells. We are about to sell them for our middle son’s swim team camp tuition. So if you’re interested, there is a form for you to fill out on their site and someone will get back to you.
A fundraiser for something more permanent might interest you. Easter Lilies are beautiful and they bloom year after year. Check with your local nurseries in the fall to see if they offer any kind of fundraising program that would accommodate your needs. If not, there are many online that you can choose from. One greenhouse to look at is Gertans. Gertens offers several options from bulbs to Easter Lilies. Your profit depends on where you set your prices. They recommend a mark-up anywhere from 50%-100%. They ship to all 50 states. I can not resist the thought of having sweet little crocus popping up when there is snow on the ground. It’s a sure sign that Spring is almost here!
I hope this piece was of some help to you. I know how hard it is to always come up with something new. Not to mention, something that will do well. I’ve had those that I was CERTAIN was going to be white hot and it just turned out to be an absolute stinker. It’s about the timing and finding a product that is not over-sold in your area. Do you have something that is a tried and true seller for Easter? If you’d like to share it in the comments, please do! It’s always nice to help each other out, because, in the end, we are all striving towards a goal that means a lot to each of us. Have a lovely day:)

take care,
